Arenal Volcano
Arenal is the youngest and most active of all the mountains in Costa Rica. Arenal's eruptions are frequent but moderate and can be viewed without danger. This constant activity and minimal endangerment makes Arenal a popular tourist destination, especially at night, because the lava and glowing rocks make a spectacular sight.
The volcano heats several hot springs nearby, including Tabacon, a popular tourist destination. The volcanic hot springs at Tabacón are naturally heated to the perfect temperature. Enjoy the beauty and soothing feeling of the mineral water, waterfalls, 12 pools and indoor Jacuzzi, all while watching the glowing hot lava descend from the volcano.
After relaxing, take a hike down to La Fortuna Waterfall. The water drops more than 150 feet from the cliff, creating an amazing sight and a refreshing pool that is perfect for a swim.
Monteverde
This region lays claim to some of the best-kept cloud forests in the entire country and is a paradise for bird watchers. Because of the beauty of the area, it is only natural that Monteverde has become a major part of the Costa Rican tourist trail. It is incredibly rich in biodiversity, containing more than 2000 species of plants, 400 kinds of birds, and 100 different species of mammals within its 26,000 acres. Hiking, bird watching, and horseback riding are just a few of the popular activities here. Monteverde is also home to the country’s highest canopy tour swinging over 130 feet above ground.
Manuel Antonio and Quepos

Established in 1972 with an area enumerating 4,014 acres, it is the destination of as many as 150,000 visitors annually and well-known for its beautiful beaches and hiking trails.
